Another first for Treargel

This weekend saw another first for Treargel as a communion service was held in the back yard! We welcomed the community of Stoke Damerel and St Aubyn's church for a quiet day and Revd. Elizabeth Burke joined us to host a communion service in the afternoon. The theme of the day was based around the bible text from Matthew 6 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin." This text seemed to fit with the fabulous show of lilies we have in the woods at the moment and of course the many birds singing away in the garden. It was great to have the day to sit and contemplate our spirituality in nature.
